Students must earn at least 128 credits to graduate. For students enter the undergraduate program with qualifications equivalent to overseas high school education (e.g., Form 5 graduates), 12 additional credits are required. These 12 credits must be selected from the "Department Core Curriculum," "Education for Individuals with Disabilities Track," or "Gifted Education Track" within the department.
.For students admitted starting in 2019, it is required to complete the university’s specified hours of cross-disciplinary autonomous learning certification before graduation. The detailed evaluation criteria and certification review shall follow the "Implementation Guidelines for Cross-Disciplinary Autonomous Learning Certification" established by the Student Affairs Office.
.In addition to completing the 6 credits of university core required English courses, students of the department must meet the English proficiency graduation requirement. Detailed assessment standards and procedures shall be referred to the 'National Dong Hwa University Graduation Requirement of English Proficiency and Implementation Regulations' as announced by the Language Center.
.When courses with identical names and content are offered simultaneously by this department and other departments, students should prioritize taking the courses offered by this department.
.Identical or equivalent courses across different academic tracks would simultaneously satisfy the requirements of different tracks. However, the credits will only be counted once toward the graduation credit total.
.For a student the minimum number of credits per semester is 9, with no upper limit.
.For courses that require both (Part I) and (Part II) for completion, these are full-year courses. If only one semester is completed, or there are grades for only one semester, the course cannot be counted toward the graduation credits. Both (Part I) and (Part II) must be completed for the credits to count toward graduation.
.Students in the undergraduate program of this department who are also taking the elementary education program must follow Article 8, Clause 1 of the "Implementation Guidelines for Education Programs" by the Center For Teacher Education of National Dong Hwa University. Education program credits are defined as courses and credits taken beyond the student’s major program and are not counted toward the major’s graduation credits. This does not apply to students who withdraw from the education program, and vacated seats due to such withdrawal cannot be filled by other candidates.
.Students under the curriculum of Academic Year 2024 or earlier who have not completed the required "Service Learning (I)" or "Service Learning (II)" credits may fulfill the requirement with University Core General Education Courses.
